The Rise of Amapiano


The South African house music is constantly reinventing itself. And this year, a new sound called Amapiano is taking over the airwaves and party goers in Mzansi can’t seem to get enough of it. with sites like fakaza making it very popular.
The new and trending genre is a mix of deep house, gqom all mixed in with the jazzy, soulful sound of a piano.
Artists like Kabza De Small, DJ Maphorisa, Vigro Deep, Kaygee Da king, Kwiish Sa and Dj Thakzin are putting a new spin in the culture of South African music and they are creating a new wave in the house music scene.
Fast forward to early 2019, the Amapiano sound took over from Gqom and Afro House songs and its popularity keeps growing at a fast pace. Most South African artist from across all genres now inculcate the Amapiano sound to their sound which is mostly pleasant to hearing.
